Workplace Bullying, Mental Health & Compensation

Our client had suffered from significant mental health issues following workplace bullying. As a result, they had received extensive psychological and psychiatric treatment.

By reason of their condition, our client was unable to be gainfully employed. Our client sought our assistance to recover what entitlements they may have. We were able to discern that during the course of their employment, our client had contributed to a number of superannuation accounts.

Our enquiries disclose that each superannuation account had attached to it, a Total and Permanent Disablement insurance policy.

With our representation and assistance, we were successful in applying on behalf of our client for benefits payable under the various policies, as we were able to satisfy the insurer that our client was permanently incapacitated by reason of their injuries and continuing problems, and therefore satisfying the criterion of totally and permanently disabled.

In total, our client received over $600,000 in insurance benefits as well as continuing income protection entitlements.
